Nuisance neighbours

Inconsiderate neighbours can make a home feel like a prison. If you want advice on whether your neighbour’s behaviour is unlawful or what options are available to you I am happy to help. Using me as a Direct Access barrister may be a simpler way to address your neighbour dispute. It will also allow you to feel more engaged with the person providing your expert advice and who will represent you at court.

There are a range of measures that can be taken to address nuisance neighbours, but the key thing is knowing whether their behaviour is something that can be dealt with by the Courts. Not all neighbour disputes are serious enough to take legal action, so practical advice on what steps to take and what evidence is needed can help you decide how best to seek a resolution.

In the most serious cases you may need an injunction which is a court order preventing your neighbour from doing certain things. You may also be entitled to compensation for the damage your neighbour has caused or for spoiling your enjoyment of your home. Often the best option is to enter mediation or use services offered by your local council to deal with issues. I can advise you as to what solution is appropriate for your particular problems.
